Glossier's Chicago Pop-Up Is So Good, It Should Be Permanent

When I found out that Glossier was going to have a pop-up in my city, I almost cried tears of joy. And because I knew it was going to be on everyone’s list of go-to places in Chitown, I decided to wait a month after its opening to check it out.

I finally made it to the Glossier pop up in the West Loop this past Sunday and let me tell you something: it did not disappoint!

Even though it has been open since the end of August, clearly the hype hasn’t died down as there was a line wrapped around the store when I got to it. Thankfully it went by quick — 15 minutes — and I had pretty things to look at on the outside because this company’s branding is on point.

When I finally got in, I felt like a little kid in a candy store; more like me in a candy store because candy is incredible.

Also, you have probably seen photos of this location a hundred times on your Instagram feed already and I’m happy to report that it’s just as dreamy IRL.

Admittedly, I shop on Glossier’s online store A LOT. I’m a big fan of the boy brow, invisible shield sunscreen, balm dot com, and of course their cloud paints…(I have three!) But, one of the main reasons I wanted to come to the pop-up shop was because I wanted to test some products in person and see if I liked their texture, how it looked on my skin tone, etc.

When I wasn’t hyper-testing everything out, I was staring at things around me. Everywhere you turned you could find beauty products, stickers, art, flowers, and even the walls felt exceptionally romantic. It really is a sensory experience — and although I wish it was less crowded when I went, I still was able to take it all in. I also wish the store designer/interior decorator could transform my apartment into something like this.

Oh, and taking pictures there is highly encouraged which is why I took as many as I could without people getting in the way which is HARD.

I’d also like to point out that the people working the event were awesome. All of them felt like beauty angels in pink jumpsuits here to make you feel even better than when you first walked in.

Gianna (sp?) helped me out with some questions I had and took her time with me so that I didn’t feel rushed into purchasing things.

I would also like to point out that my pink booties matched the iconic #glossierpink vibes. It wasn’t planned but I won’t rule out my subconscious doing its thing here.

I could have spent my whole paycheck here but I did good and kept my eyes on the prize — AKA things I knew I wanted before I went there.

Bonus: Even the seated waiting area was picture-perfect.

I left feeling like a queen but also extremely drained. Not gonna lie: my anxiety levels were slowly spiking towards the end of my shopping trip there. It’s a breathtaking space but it was just a little too crowded for me. But I can’t end this post without showing you what I scored…

…TADA!

I ended up walking out with the mini milk jelly cleanser, boy brow (duh), super bounce hydrating serum, stretch concealer, and their lidstar eyeshadow in the color “herb.” Gianna told me it’s the color Beyoncé wore to the Grammys and my heart skipped a beat.

I’m going to try to hit up the pop-up one more time before it closes on October 28th because I have my eye on a couple more items. Plus, I’m hoping I can sneak in when there’s less people so that I can really take my time in there.

Here’s to hoping and wishing Glossier could stay in Chicago forever!
