The $40 Leopard Coat That Looks Like A Million Bucks
My mission to find the leopard coat of my dreams has been going on for a couple of years now. I own a moto one from UNIF and I came very close to purchasing a mid-length one from Zara last year — a truly mild regret. But I honestly feel like the world was conspiring to keep my wallet and heart happy at the same time when it led me to this affordable number from Target.
Like all great Target love stories go, I went in there for one thing I needed and eyed this piece hanging on a rack. There were only two left and they wore both a size XS — definitely not my size — so I had to cross my fingers that it was still available online.
Side note: Subconsciously I think I was always going to look for this coat after my former coworker and friend Cindy posted a video of it when she went to the Target holiday preview for work. So if you're reading this Cindy: Thank You.
Even though I saw it IRL and got to feel the material, I still read all the reviews online and all 100+ of them really sealed the deal for me.
The faux fur is so soft, the color is gorgeous, and it's definitely going to keep my warm throughout the Chicago winter. Even though I'm a shorty, it still hits me at a nice length on my body, too. It's so classic and sleek, they could have honestly priced it at $139.99 (vs. its actual tag of $39.99) — and I'm so, so, so glad they didn't.
The quality of Target's new brand, A New Day, is my latest obsession. I own two incredible sweaters from this line in addition to this coat and I definitely see myself coming back to their display every time I go to Target from now on.
It's safe to say that it was $40 well spent!
